The 72 Hour Charity Challenge in aid of Special Olympics Ireland returns from 7th to 10th August 2025.

All Regions Golf Event-Portmarnock

On the 30th June, all regions came together at Portmarnock & Jameson Golf Links.

Sligo Fairways Special Olympics club travelled to the event and competed in the Level 4-Individual Stroke Plat, 9-hole competition. The course was challenging but all the athletes completed it which is a testament to their determination and courage.

The awards were presented by members of the Board of Special Olympics Ireland and Golf Ireland

The Munster Football Cup took place on June 21st at MTU Arena, with 14 teams taking to the field to compete in their respective divisions.

A proud and unforgettable moment unfolded this week at the 71st Cork City Sports International Athletics Meet, as eight Special Olympics Ireland athletes competed in a dedicated 100m heat — a first in the event’s distinguished history.

Led by our two brilliant students Lisa and Ruth, the programme was packed with energy, hands-on learning, and plenty of eye-opening moments.

A massive sponsored climb up Donegal’s highest peak Mt. Errigal last month helped to raise €6,461.65 for the North West Special Olympics Club.
