Special Olympics Ireland Schools Penalty Shoot-out

Take part in our Special Olympics Ireland Schools Penalty Shoot-out this year

Show off your skills by taking on your students in a friendly penalty shootout or get a bit of friendly competition going between students from different classes. Better still, why not make it really fun and get your principal or vice-principal to get the soccer boots on for a good cause!

We are asking you to include it as part of your PE class or as a sunny lunchtime activity that will raise spirits and also raise much-needed funds for the athletes of Special Olympics Ireland. Whether it's €2 per person or a donation of your choice, every cent raised will go a long way in providing year-round sports training and competitions for over 7,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. You can choose to take cash donations or set up an online fundraiser which we can help you with.

The crowned champions will get their hands on our exclusive Special Olympics Ireland #UnbeatableTogether T-shirts and a personalised school participation cert to acknowledge your act of kindness through sports.

Step-by-step penalty shoot-out for beginners:

  1. Pick your goal keeper/s (why not see if a brave teacher would stand up to the goalposts)
  2. Break into your teams of 5/6 players or more depending on class size
  3. The team with the most goals wins or get to your 2 final teams through as many elimination rounds as needed
  4. Celebrate getting to your two final teams and crown your winning team in the final penalty Shootout of the day.

Please register below and we will send you some tips for your penalty shoot-out as well as support you setting up your online fundraising page
