Special Olympics Ireland transforms lives by providing sport, leadership and health programmes to 7,895 active athletes with an intellectual disability all across the island of Ireland.
Special Olympics is about all moments both big and small, from clubs to sporting events, as well as Ireland Games and World Games.
The real benefit to athletes comes from grassroots participation, their weekly training in sport and the sense of belonging to a team and club. Currently we have 294 clubs around the country. Our wish is to increase our reach and offer all people with an intellectual disability the opportunity to be a part of our sports programme.

Volunteering is at the heart of the Special Olympics ethos and thanks to our dedicated volunteers we can fulfill our mission.
Our sports programme operates across Ireland so we are in a unique position to offer employee volunteering opportunities at a location near your office. These can range from one or two day local events to Ireland and World Games. Whether you are a small company or large organisation we have volunteer opportunities to suit.
