Special Olympics Ireland Welcomes Golisano Foundation Delegation to Showcase Inclusive Health Programmes
Representatives from the Golisano Foundation and Special Olympics global leadership visited Ireland to see inclusive health initiatives in action and to meet the athletes and partners driving this work forward.
The Golisano Foundation supports health initiatives across the Special Olympics worldwide network, and the visit was a great opportunity to showcase our inclusive health programmes in action and to highlight our strong community collaborations with Breast Cancer Ireland, Mental Health Ireland and Safefood. Our Health Messengers and Athlete leaders took centre stage presenting on their achievements and how they have worked with us to enhance and grow our health programmes. The diversity of our programmes impressed the visitors with visits to our Young Athletes clubs and MATP training .
A trip to Belfast and Derry celebrated Ulster University receiving the 2025 Global Golisano Health Leadership Award and provided an opportunity to learn about our plans to strengthen inclusive health professional training through collaboration with the university networks across Ireland
The visit finished in Trinity to learn about the Rosemary Collaboratory global inclusive research and advocacy project, and to showcase the impressive and vital work of the IDS TILDA project
