We were proud to be invited to the Sports for Business - Sporting Year Ahead event yesterday, hosted by the wonderful Rob Hartnett, who generously gave our CEO, Karen Coventry and three of our incredible athletes — Dara Kiernan (Badminton), Chris Byrne (Football), and Jacob McKenna (Swimming)centre stage at the closing of the event to speak about the upcoming Ireland Summer Games.

As our flagship event of the year, the Ireland Summer Games is the largest inclusive sporting event in the country. With more than 1,200 athletes competing across 12 sports, it captures the attention and hearts of local communities across all five regions of our island. Yet the true impact of the Games goes far beyond the numbers. They showcase what is possible when opportunity, inclusion, and belief come together.

Athletes like Dara, Chris, and Jacob embody the transformative power of sport. They train with dedication, compete with passion, and bring joy, respect, and sportsmanship to every competition. Through sport, they build confidence, independence, and connection — inspiring everyone who has the privilege of watching them perform.

At its heart, the Ireland Summer Games are about opportunity — about seeing potential realised, confidence grow, and inclusion in action — making it a truly positive experience to support, to witness, and to be part of.

Whether by volunteering your time, donating to support the Games, or cheering from the sidelines, your involvement helps make these moments possible. This is your chance to stand alongside our athletes, share in their excitement, and make memories to last a lifetime.  Be a Part of the Action at: www.irelandgames.ie
