Eastern Region Golf League Finals
The Eastern Region golfers had an early start on Saturday November 1st as they took to the course at Grange Castle Golf Club for the final day of the Eastern Region Golf League.
In a highly anticipated day for golfers and volunteers alike, over 25 athletes competed in the final from eight different clubs. An average of 27 players attended each day of the competition.
Nearest to the Pin winners 2025:
John Heavey of D6 SO Club
Conor Dunne of Elm Eagles
Niral Vaitha of Elm Eagles
Chris Rockett of D6 SO Club
Barry McGuinness of Blackrock Flyers.
Our best score this year was Conor Dunne from Elm Eagles with a fantastic score of 29 shots.
We would like to extend a big congratulations to Elm Eagles and Blackrock Flyers who have shared the cup this season.
Pictured are both teams’ captains receiving the cup together: Alison Kelly of Elm Eagles, and Andrew Dunleavy of Blackrock Flyers.
Well done to all athletes who participated in the league throughout the year.
The competition was held in the Grange Castle Golf Club on their 7 Hole Academy course (par 26), by kind permission and generosity of their members under the management of Synergy Golf.
We would like to say a big “thank you” to all the staff who welcome us every league day.
It is held over a total of 6 outings, between April and November. The golfers play seven holes, and we have a Nearest to the Pin on one of the Par 3s. Two players score for their team each week.
Athletes from Eastern Region Golf Clubs are welcome to participate in as little as 1 day of the league.
The goal of the league is to get golfers out on the course participating and competing against other athletes within the region within an environment suitable for all.
This league is run by two very dedicated volunteers, Rita McNally and Eddie Gannon, without whom the golf community within the region would not be the same.
We are all very grateful for all the volunteers who help to make the league such a success – from the golf coordinators to the coaches and caddies who attend on the days.
