Athletes Show Skill at Regional Bocce Event - Castlegar GAA Club, Galway

Connaught Bocce Qualifiers Heat Up in Galway! 

What a brilliant day of bocce action we had on Sunday, 18th May at Castlegar GAA Club in Galway, as the Connaught Regional Qualifiers rolled into town!

97 athletes from 9 Special Olympics clubs across the region came together to compete, connect, and give it their all on the court. Despite the soaring temperatures (not ideal for an indoor sport! ), the focus, skill, and determination shown by our athletes was nothing short of exceptional. 

The competition was fierce, but the sportsmanship was even better. Every throw was cheered, every effort applauded — exactly the spirit that makes Special Olympics so special. 

A huge thank you to all the officials and volunteers who made the day run smoothly, and to Castlegar GAA Club for hosting us in their fantastic facility. Special shout-out to Community Garda Damien, who not only brought athletes from Mullingar to the event but also proudly presented the awards!
