Cops and Donuts Fundraising Events

We are looking for members of An Garda Síochana and the PSNI to run a “Cops and Donut” Event this November or December. It’s so easy to arrange thanks to our sponsor Kelly’s Donuts.

Are you interested in organising a Cops and Donuts Event in your local Shopping Centre or Town? This can be arranged in a few easy steps:

1. Decide on a date, we recommend November or December as these months have the greatest footfall.
2. Contact your local shopping centre or council to see if they can give the LETR a space to sell donuts.
3. Link in with SOI head office letr@specialolympics.ie to notify them of the date. They can assist with permits, posters, ordering the donuts and volunteer recruitment.
4. Recruit a team of Gardaí or members of the PSNI to assist you on the day
5. Promote the event on social media and in local newspapers.
6. Coordinate collection of “Jelly” the policeman mascot, the donuts and materials.
7. Hold a successful feel-good community event that is great for community engagement and also a great opportunity to work with Special Olympics Athletes who love being donut sellers on the day!
