Auxiliary Member:  

• Service/Special School staff, 
• Inclusive Club Members, 
• NGB officials:  

individuals who support the Special Olympics Ireland (SOI) programme but may not be registered volunteers with SOI.  They fulfil the vetting and safeguarding requirements laid out by their own organisation/club and have an agreement with SOI in this regard., They are not eligible to volunteer in SOI clubs or events in any other capacity unless they are also registered volunteers with SOI

A Service or Special School linked with Special Olympics Ireland supports and trains athletes, allowing them to participate in various sports and compete in events. Although the staff and members may not be registered volunteers with Special Olympics Ireland, they adhere to their organisation's vetting and safeguarding requirements and have an agreement with Special Olympics Ireland. While they support the programme, they cannot volunteer at Special Olympics Ireland clubs or events unless they are registered volunteers. 

Inclusive Club: A mainstream club that offers the opportunity to athletes with intellectual disability to train and compete, in one of the sports offered by Special Olympics Ireland, along with athletes who do not have a disability. Athletes with intellectual disability attending regular training in Inclusive clubs can register to participate in competition events organised by Special Olympics Ireland

NGB Officials refer to individuals who are part of National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and support the Special Olympics Ireland (SOI) programme. Although they are instrumental in assisting the programme, they may not necessarily be registered volunteers with SOI. They meet the vetting and safeguarding requirements set by their respective NGBs and have an agreement with SOI regarding their roles. These roles can include serving as officials, judges, referees, and other capacities essential for the SOI events. However, unless they are also registered volunteers with SOI, they are not eligible to volunteer in SOI clubs or events in other capacities.
