Special Olympics Annual Collection Day is now cancelled

Collection Day - Now cancelled

Special Olympics Ireland cancels Annual Collection Day on Friday 24th April.

Our priority is the health and safety of our athletes, volunteers, staff and supporters.

Due to the potential health risks of COVID-19, we have cancelled Collection Day and hope to reschedule to later in the year.

We rely heavily on the funds generated through Collection Day to deliver our sports, leadership and health programme to almost 8,000 women, men and children with an intellectual disability on the island of Ireland.

While our clubs are closed at the moment, we are engaging in creative ways to reach out to athletes and their families to ensure they remain physically, mentally and emotionally fit during these challenging times.

We would greatly appreciate donations at this time to continue our work.

“Whilst this was a tough decision for the charity from a financial aspect, it was an easy one when we thought about the health and well-being of our volunteers." Matt English, CEO, Special Olympics Ireland.
