Special Olympics Ireland has developed a comprehensive Return to Activities Protocol, and Safety Plan Template, aimed at protecting the health and welfare of all in S.O.I and minimising the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in the community.
We believe strongly that it is important that clubs, coaches, athletes and volunteers have the support and training they need to get back to activity. Special Olympics Ireland has developed the following guides and documents to assist clubs in their preparation for a ‘Return to Activities’. Below we have outlined the steps a club should take to get back to training:
1. APPOINT A COVID-19 COORDINATOR AND SAFETY TEAM
The Club Management Team will appoint a COVID-19 Coordinator and COVID-19 safety team
COVID-19 Role Descriptions for your club can be found ‘here’
2. READ THE SOI RETURN TO ACTIVITY PROTOCOL – CLICK HERE
It is important that the Club Management Team, COVID-19 Coordinator and COVID-19 Safety Team familiarise themselves with the content of these document. Our latest news section also offers guidance on what this advice means for clubs.
3. CARRY OUT A COVID-19 RISK ASSESSMENT
A COVID-19 Safety Plan template has been developed for use by clubs.
4. COMPLETE YOUR COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN
The COVID-19 Safety Plan should outline how the club will manage training and club activities in order to minimise the spread of COVID-19 and safeguard members from the risk of infection.
