2018 Annual General Meeting


Announcement of 2018 Special Olympics Ireland’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Special Olympics Ireland will be held at 1pm on Saturday, 19th May 2018 in the Conference Centre, National Sports Campus, Snugborough Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.

Members of Special Olympics Ireland (the Company) are invited to submit motions for inclusion as resolutions on the Notice of the meeting (each Member being entitled to submit not more than one such motion).   All motions must be submitted in writing in hard copy or electronically to Special Olympics Ireland as its registered office, address below, or to agm@specialolympics.ie no later than 5pm, Thursday 5th April or earlier if possible.  The relevant form may be downloaded here. Alternatively you may contact Special Olympics Ireland on 01- 8823972 and a form will be posted to the requested address. 

Under 7.2.5 A of the Memorandum & Articles of Association, there are two positions on the Board of Special Olympics Ireland to which individuals may be elected by the Members at the Annual General Meeting.  Nominations to the Board of Directors may be submitted on the attached Nomination Form or downloaded here.  

Affiliated Club Members are invited and entitled to appoint two Delegates to attend and to vote on behalf of their club.  Special Olympics athletes that are appointed as Delegates may be accompanied by their mentor.  Each Delegate has one vote and must be at least 18 years of age.  Delegate names must be submitted on a Delegate Appointment Form and submitted to Special Olympics Ireland not later than Tuesday 8th May 2018.  The relevant form may be downloaded here and will be issued with the formal Notice of the AGM in early April.

Please note: Only submissions made using a Delegate Appointment Form will be accepted.

Any athlete, registered volunteer or family member who is not a Delegate may attend the AGM should they so wish, but they should be aware that they do not have a vote.
