Equestrian
Equestrian comprises a number of different events and levels based on the ability of the athlete. Riders may compete at one level only in competition and may enter 3 events: Dressage, Equitation and Trailrides
Special Olympics athletes who compete in the equestrian events learn to ride, develop sports skills and gain the self-confidence to direct and control a horse.
In Ireland 605 Special Olympics athletes take part in equestrian in 78 different clubs.
