Eastern Region Family Fun Halloween Day

A huge thank you to all 350 family members who attended the Regions Family Halloween Fun Day last Saturday in the RDS. Everyone had a brilliant day, with lots of games and fun which included Apple bobbing, Apple dunking, Spagehetti dunking,Coconut shy, Scary pintail on cat, Hip Hop dance lessons,Face painting, DJ, Special Olympics Athlete Leadership Programme Stand, Sports Stand, Healthy Athlete Stand, Train for thought challenge and most importantly the event was FANCY DRESS!!!

The event was such a great success thanks to the Regional Family Team (Denis O’Reilly, Shelagh Leech - Family Officer, Liam O'Brien, Jenny West, Colm Leech and Brendan Whelan) who all put in a huge amount of work over the past 6 months in preparing for the event. They received great support from several companies and people and want to say a huge Thank You to:
- Greg Begley, Begleys Fruits for supplying the event with over 300 pumpkins, 2,000 apples, coconuts and much much more all free of charge
- Tony Purcell for designing our flyer
- Dominic Hegarty of Lantz print for printing 1500 flyer free of charge
- Olivia O’Reilly & Paul Brooder (Spar Sandycove) for supplying our volunteers on the day with free sandwiches
- RDS – Angela O’Reilly & Cian O’Colmain, for all their hard work and support in lending the RDS’s services free of charge
- Kerrie Milne – National Performing Arts School, for facilitating hip hop lessons free of charge
