Special Olympics Ireland Opening Ceremony Transport & Stadium Information

ARRIVE EARLY AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT

• Gates Open at 5pm.
• Athletes will arrive in the stadium between 6 and 7, so please ensure to be there to greet them.
• Pre-show entertainment in the stadium kicks off at 6pm
• Show starts at 7pm, but we would ask that all spectators be in their seats a minimum of 20 minutes prior to that.

TRAVELLING TO THOMOND PARK STADIUM
 

• Please arrive early and allow time for your journey.
• The Limerick Park and Ride service is available from 4pm– with return tickets from the Kilmurray Lodge, Radisson Hotel, Ballykisteen Hotel and Golf Resort and City East Plaza (Tipperary Road).
• There is a public bus service operating directly from Limerick city centre to Thomond Park stadium from 5pm – picking up from Henry Street.
• There is NO PARKING in the vicinity of Thomond Park Stadium or LIT as this is being used for athlete transport but parking is available at all city centre car parks. Disabled parking permits will be circulated to wheelchair ticket holders.

IMPORTANT STADIUM INFORMATION 

• Please check your tickets for the details of turnstiles (T1-T12).  You ticket will only be accepted in the turnstile identified on your ticket.
• The Opening Ceremony is an alcohol free event.
• There are numerous catering facilities within Thomond Park – All open 2 hours before show start.
• Spectators will not be permitted to exit and re-enter the stadium at any point.
• No one will be able to enter the stadium with alcohol or glass and spectators will be requested to remove the lids of any soft drink containers on entering the stadium.
• Please do not enter the pitch are at any time and adhere to the stadiums ground regulations – these can be found on www.thomondpark.ie
