Athlete Leadership Programme (ALPs) Ireland
What is ALPs Ireland?
ALPs Ireland is a group of athletes from all over the island of Ireland who come together several times a year and discuss issues and current activities within Special Olympics.
Athletes are elected to ALPs Ireland through their Regional ALPs Teams every two years. ALPs Ireland elects one of their members to be the athlete representative on the Special Olympics Ireland Board of Directors (currently Nicole Redmond).
In addition, any athlete from Ireland currently serving on a European or International Committee is automatically a member of ALPs Ireland. The current members of ALPs Ireland are:

The ALPs Ireland team meets approximately 3 times each year. The team undertake a variety of activities, usually mixing learning a new skill followed by practical application of that skill.
At each meeting, ALPs Ireland will discuss a topic relevant to the group, brainstorm on their ideas and provide feedback to the organisation. The ALPs Ireland team are a key group for input into plans for the overall ALPs Programme.
