 The Athlete Leadership Programme

The Special Olympics Athlete Leadership enables athletes of all abilities, working with a mentor to become socially and personally more confident, have a voice, contribute and participate as leaders and ambassadors within Special Olympics Ireland and in their own community.

Athlete Leadership is based on 4 main cornerstones providing a way for athletes to develop and showcase their talents and interests through training and experience, both on and off the sports field.

Who can be part of Athlete Leadership?

Anyone who is over 16 years old and who is currently a Special Olympics athlete or who has been a Special Olympics athlete in the past can join Athlete Leadership.

How can I get involved: You can register for the Athlete Leadership through your regional office. The contact details for your regional office are on the left hand side of this page.
