Thousands of people will take to the roads and streets of Ireland on Friday, April 23rd to shake their buckets and raise essential funding for Special Olympics Ireland.

This is the biggest annual fundraising event in aid of Special Olympics and the aim is to raise €1 million in one day.
No matter where you are or what mode of transport you use – train, ferry or automobile, you can contribute towards the life changing work of Special Olympics Ireland by:
Donating to the buckets manned by over 1500 volunteers throughout Ireland on Collection Day

Celebrities lending their support, either by attending our Business Breakfast Events in Belfast, Dublin and Limerick, or shaking buckets on the streets include:

2010 Special Olympic Ireland Games), Simon Best, Cillian Willis, Joe Brolly, Peter Clohessy, the Munster Rugby Team
Many Special Olympic athletes will be out collecting on the day while several
ALPs Athletes will be involved in hosting the Business Breakfast Events.

This year is particularly significant for Special Olympics Ireland with the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games taking place in Limerick from 9-13th June. This will be one of the biggest and most prestigious events of the summer with 1,900 athletes competing in 13 sports in venues throughout Limerick and Clare. They will be accompanied by a team of 650 coaches and official delegates. 4,000 family members and supported by a team of 3,000 volunteers.
