Ten Pin Bowling Regional Competition

The Volunteers from Janssen, one of the Johnson and Johnson group of companies based in Cork took charge of all the planning and arrangements from the ten pin bowling competition in the Planet Bowl in Cork. The event manager was Cliona Cummins who led a very able team of volunteers on the day and the competition manager was Allan Pickwick, our Regional Coordinator for ten pin bowling.

100 athletes who had qualified for the event from last year’s area competitions took part and a great day of competition was held.

Juliet Murphy and Valerie Mulcahy from the victorious Cork Ladies football team came along to present awards and brought their trophy to show to the athletes.

Juliet Murphy also presented a cheque for over €19,000 to Ger Deegan the Regional Director that she had collected for Special Olympics Munster over the past few years with various fundraisers she had instigated in conjunction with her Fitness Gym in Cork.


Well done to the great group of J&J volunteers who ran a very high quality event and made the day so enjoyable for everyone.
