Athlete Leadership Programme

The Athlete Leadership Programme facilitates athletes aged 16 years old and above to experience opportunities additional to sports training and competition.  Working with a volunteer mentor athletes complete training and workshops based around public speaking, volunteering, coaching and presentation skills.

Events

  Throughout the year Special Olympics Ulster host a series of events across the Region and require volunteers to assist in all areas including sports roles, catering, volunteer services and event services.  For further information please refer to the Upcoming Events calendar.

 

Volunteer Support Centre

 

The Ulster Volunteer support centre provides a vital outlet for administration support.  The Centre opens Wednesday 10am - 1pm and Thursday 10am - 8pm.  If you would be interested in joining the support centre team contact Keith Thompson on 028 90892994 or keith.thompson@specialolympics.ie.

 

Current Opportunities 

2012 Triple Crown Golf Event.  Special Olympics Ulster are seeking to appoint a volunteer management team to prepare and manage the team of athletes before and during the Triple Corwn Golf Event.  For further information please contact Emma or Christine on 028 9089 2993/2997. 

Antrim Borough Special Olympics Club who meet at Stiles Community Centre in Antrim, are seeking volunteers to help out with the running of their basketball training sessions on Tuesday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer with this Club please contact John Fisher on 079 74943145.

Lisburn 2Gether Special Olympics Club is currently seeking volunteers to come along and help out at their football training sessions. The football club meet on Tuesday nights at Sally Gardens Community Centre at 7pm- 8pm.
