Volunteers at Regional Athletics Event 2009

Eastern Region Volunteer Opportunities

Click HERE to begin our volunteer registration process

Through sport, athletes develop both physically and emotionally, they make new friends, realise their dreams, and know they can fit in. As a volunteer with us, you enable athletes to achieve and win not only in sport but in life too. Special Olympics values and needs your involvement in many areas of the programme from raising awareness to:

  • volunteering at our events
  • volunteering in our clubs
  • volunteering to raise much needed funds

Current volunteer vancanies within the Eastern Region

The Eastern Region support centre is made up of a team of fantasic volunteers, the volunteer centre operates during the day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. The volunteers carry out many different tasks that include data entry, event recruitment calls and administration tasks. Athlete Leadership facilitates athletes to explore opportunities additional to sports training and competition and empowers athletes to take on new challenging roles.  We have a number of Athlete Leaders across the region, who require a mentor.  Find out more about Athlete Leadership please contact

Our number one concern is the health and safety of our athletes when they are competing at events.  We require qualified medical & first aid volunteers for all our sports events held during the year.  If you have a medical qualification and are interested in becoming involved in our events please contact or telephone 01 8912000 for more information.
