Cops and Donut Shops

Cops and Donuts is a worldwide event for Special Olympics organised by the Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee. Currently, close to 90,000 police professionals in over 35 countries participate in this worldwide effort to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics.
We sell delicious, fresh donuts, baked by Kelly's Bakery in Wexford.
If you were available to give your time to assist at these selling points, we are always looking for a smiling face to help make these really fun events as successful as possible.  They are ran at “pop up” stands in different shopping centres in Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow for the Eastern Region.  Please see confirmed  upcoming dates below:

Bridgewater Shopping Centre, Arklow - September 8th 2018
Volunteers are still required for all times at present

The Square Shopping Centre, Tallaght - September 15th 2018
Volunteers are still required for all times at present

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS.

Superhero Day

Please note this is a fundraiser focused more on creches and primary schools nationwide.

Can you be our superhero this year?

This is a very easy-to-organise fundraiser, and a great way to introduce younger children to what the Special Olympics are and what we do.  Simply organise a fancy dress day around the last week of October, and ask each child to make a donation to the Special Olympics on the day.  We have plenty of online resources on how to introduce the term "Intellectual Disability" to children from about 4 years old and above, as well as what the Special Olympics are.  We like to encourage usage of these materials and the introduction of acceptance and inclusion of all people from as young as possible.  These resources can be located on our website here: http://www.specialolympics.ie/WHATWEDO/EDUCATION/SCHOOLSPROGRAMME.aspx
If you would like to participate this year, please call Anita on 01-8912022 to arrange a Superhero Pack to be sent out to you.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AT COLLECTION DAY 2018!!

We would like to say thank you to all collection day volunteers. There is money still coming in but we are set to hit €125,000 in the eastern region alone and an amazing €500,000 across ireland. Your support means so much to our athletes, their families, coaches and volunteers. Your help gives our athletes a chance to develop a real sense of worth, of value, a chance to meet new people and make new friends for life.

Polar Plunge

Our annual “Polar Plunge” is the perfect chance to get #FreezinForAReason! Another Law Enforcement Torch Run supported event, this is one of the most fun campaigns to take part in, volunteer at and just to watch!  Every winter, around the beginning of December, we have 200+ Plungers jump from the pier at the 40 Foot / Sandycove Beach to help raise funds.  Temperatures are low but spirits are high and with special appearances from Santa, as well as many jumping in in costumes, it is the perfect family friendly event.  Registration opens late October, so watch this space!!
