Ireland’s top cookery schools and sporting hero’s are mixing it up for Special Olympics at Savour 



Savour Kilkenny is delighted to be working with Special Olympics Leinster to bring a new twist to Cookery Demonstrations from some of Ireland’s top cookery schools. This special event will be hosted by Kilkenny’s favourite celebrity chef Edward Hayden in the Main Marquee on Saturday October 25th from 12 noon to 3pm.





Some of Special Olympics Ireland’s Ambassadors will be on hand on the day to help out so be sure to attend the demos because you never know who will turn up! Local Special Olympic’s ambassadors include Mick Galwey and Darren O’Neill.





Travelling to Kilkenny from Cork, Donegal and Wexford for this very special event are our esteemed chefs Rory O’Connell from Ballymaloe Cookery School (12noon), Brian McDermott, The No-Salt (1pm) and Kevin Dundon, Dunbrody Cookery School (2pm) .  These highly respected chefs and food authors always demonstrate...

Introduction to Coaching Practices Course

Special Olympics Connaught are running an Intro to Coaching Practices course on Saturday 30th November in Galway. This is a 1-day course (09.00am-17.00pm) and is ideal for this interested in starting on their coaching journey with Special Olympics. About the Connaught region

Special Olympics Connaught provides year round sports training and competition for over 1,082 adults and children with intellectual disabilities in Galway, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo and Westmeath.
Numerous sports competitions and development days are held annually in 13 Olympic type sports. There are 73 Special Olympics clubs in the Connaught region.The mission of Special Olympics is:
 
“to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community”.
