Special Olympics Leinster Male 5-a-side Football League

November sees the return of the Leinster Male 5-a-side Football League. Now in its second year, the league comprises 12 teams from 8 different SO clubs and services throughout the region, competing across 3 divisions.

All twelve teams assembled in Monasterevin AFC’s home ground of Ballykelly Park, Monasterevin, Co. Kildare back in October to take part in the league’s divisioning day. Competition was tough on the day, but eventually three divisions were established and the first of the League Days took place on Saturday November 3rd.

We are very grateful to Monasterevin AFC, who have very kindly allowed us the use of their pitches and changing facilities for all 5 of our league days (1 day divisioning, 3 competitive league days and 1 cup day) which take place on the following Saturdays: Nov 3rd, Jan 26th, Mar 2nd and Apr 13th. The cup day which takes place on Apr 13th, promises to be a very exciting occasion, with each team...

Re: Andrew Dempsey at the Curragh Aquatics event
Hi Andrew,

It was our son Adam who you helped in the dressing room last year. We never knew the whole story until we read your 100 words last night.
Thankyou so much for being so kind to him. You are a true champion and a great swimmer.
We are so happy that you got the gold medal this year and we hope to meet you again in the Nationals in Limerick. Keep up your wonderful writing!
We are going to tell everyone we know just how great Andrew Dempsey is and we will be shouting for you at the next aquatic event.
Thank you again from your new friend Adam and his family.

Well done Andrew and well done to all of the Athletes, Coaches, Volunteers and Family Members that contributed to a fantastic 3 weekends of Aquatics (we were in Navan too).
