Special Olympics Munster is hosting the golf classic at the award-winning Deerpark Course at Fota Island on Monday May 30 to raise funds for the organisation. The exceptional course has, on three occasions, been the venue for the Irish Open. Prizes include a driver club signed by famed Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia as well as green fees for exceptional clubs throughout the province.

There are a number of ways in which people can support the golf classic – enter a team, sponsor a hole or donate a prize for the raffle which will take place in the clubhouse that evening.

A team of four costs €400 which includes golf and a meal in the clubhouse afterwards.

Companies can sponsor a hole for €100 and a sponsorship plaque containing the business details will be erected at the teebox.

Special Olympics is first and foremost a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability, but it provides athletes with far more than the physical benefits of sport.
