Special Olympics Connaught offers the following Summer sports: Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling, Equestrian, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Kayaking, Pitch and Putt, Table Tennis, Swimming and MATP (Motor Activities Training Programme)
We also offer the following Winter sports: Floorball

Within the sports programme we provide competition on a yearly basis.  The competition calendar operates on a 4 year cycle as follows: Area events, Regional events, Ireland Games and World Games.  Athletes must compete at the first level of advancement in each sport in any given cycle to be eligible to advance.  Please see the Quick Guide to Competition for further information.

We also run a variety of leagues in football, basketball, bowling and bocce which offer additional competition. We do encourage clubs to organise "inter club activities" (see Inter Club Guide) to supplement competition during the year if they wish to do so.

Coaching and Training

Coaches are absolutely essential to Special Olympics Connaught. Without you, the programme simply cannot operate effectively. As a coach, you provide athletes with encouragement, guidance and technical support to help athletes reach their full potential.

Special Olympics Connaught run a number of coaching courses throughout the year across the region for both new and existing coaches.  If you enjoy coaching and want to improve your knowledge and skills why not click on any of the quick links for further information or to  book a place.
