Day 6 - First medal for Team Ireland

5.30 Another day of divisioning but some got a lie-in with Football and Table Tennis having a much later start
6pm Another successful day with some television appearances by athletes and famous individuals attending the various venues.
Badminton: Riobard Lankford played a singles match and was awarded a silver medal and after his performance he was interviewed for Polish TV.
Bowling: The Chairman of the Olympic Council attended the venue but wasn't happy to just sit in his seat. Instead he wanted to meet the people who were going to have a busy day ahead and he took to the lanes. Matt English(CEO Special Olympics Ireland) was also in attendance and spent time with families and athletes.
Football: Finland had a hard match to play and were put under pressure when Mary Strain scored Irelands first goal, to which Finland couldn’t make a come back.
8pm With high spirits, it was off to the Healthy Athletes with athletes visiting Fun Fitness, Opening Eyes, Special Smiles, Health Promotion and Healthy Hearing. The day finished on a high with some dancing in the Olympic Village tent.
