8am: All the athletes are in the dining room having breakfast, Polish style.
9am: All the athletes leave the hotel and went training to acclimatise in the Olsztyn College where the students helped out when needed. The local newspaper came to take pictures and speak to the teams. Two Polish athletes, Marcin and Wojcak, who are both taking part in the Games joined the bowling team to train.
11am: Returned to the hotel for a Polish lunch which was met by some dubious faces but with empty plates going back to the kitchen, we knew it was enjoyed by all.
12pm: Off on the bus again but this time for a very important date with the President of Olsztyn, Piotr Grzymowicz, to watch traditional folk dancers and music. A few of the athletes were asked up to join them and did the dance with them. Andrea Buckley (Football) gave an impromptu performance on a piano which finished with a loud applause. Radio and television stations again followed the team and Nicolle Smith (Athletics) gave an interview to a radio station and Sonia Farrell (HOD) gave a television interview.
2pm: We all walked over from the Town Hall to the Olsztyn castle in the rain where we met the Torch Run. The torch was carried by an Olsztyn athlete along with members of the Law Enforcement from different European cities.
4pm: All the athletes convene back at the castle after lunch to be greeted by knights in shining armour (literally). A medieval historical group gave demonstrations of sword fighting, gun shooting and archery and then the athletes took their turn at coin making and being caught in the stocks.
8pm: All the team assembled for dinner and went straight to bed.....zzzzzzzz
Tune in tomorrow for more...
