Bernadette Kennedy (left) from Wexford is one of 34 athletes who travelled to Poland as part of Team Ireland to participate at the Special Olympics European Games in September. Bernadette won 1 bronze medal in Poland.

Bernadette has been involved with Special Olympics for the past 16 years and is a member of Special Olympics Club Gorey Area. She will compete in badminton at the Special Olympics European Games.
Bernadette has enjoyed much success through Special Olympics and won two gold medals and one silver medal at the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games which were held in Limerick in June.
This is the first time that Bernadette has been selected to represent Ireland at European Games level and she is really looking forward to it. She has never been to Poland before and is very excited about visiting the country and meeting lots of different people.
In her free time, Bernadette enjoys listening to music, swimming and watching films.
