Hi all, college has been going pretty good for me. I am still learning lots at the VEC in Letterkenny. I will be finishing up in three days and then I will be on my Christmas holidays. For the past month I have just been getting all my communications projects done and out of the way. What I have done so far is my book review. I had never ever read a book in my life, I’m more into comic books, but now, I am getting more into reading books. There are other FETAC projects I have done and I'm glad they are out of the way.

I had to do a Powerpoint presentation on Special Olympics in front of my class and everyone was over the moon with what I have done and achieved in my life in the past 10 years. They were amazed with the amount of famous people I had met too. They were shocked when they saw a photo of Colin Farrell and me back in 2007 in China.

Last week on the 13th, 14th and 15th of December I had been studying lots and learning about First Aid. It was amazing to learn so much especially how to save lives, and what to do when you come across a person who is choking or having a stroke. This was a level 5 FETAC so now I am covered for the next 2 years. I was really glad to do this course and now I’ll be ready in case I come across someone in need in real life.

So now in the New Year I will be doing a lot of maths, business studies and IT data. As well as this I have few other exams to get done from now to April so I will be really getting the head down and studying like a dingbat. So that is what has been happening with me in VEC College in Letterkenny!

Our last football match was a nice dry day on the 19th November 2011. It was our 2nd home game of the season. We were playing up in Finn Harps ground in Ballybofey. We were competing against Bray Lakers who are a very good strong team. I wasn’t playing because Mick my coach still wanted me to take it easy and didn’t want to take a risk with the injury to my left knee. So I didn’t mind helping out on the sideline.

I warmed up the goalkeeper and then had a chat with the guys and made sure everyone picked their players and got focused to make a big win today. The the game was on and it was a tough hard game. It was one of the best games I’d seen in a long time, Bray were putting up a good defence, and it was really hard to break them down to get a goal. Then we had some pretty good chances to score but their keeper was amazing in the goal and we missed so many chances. So at half time it was 0.0.

Then 2nd half got on its way, and our keeper made a mistake and came out of the box and picked up the ball. Luckily the Ref just gave him a yellow card but it could have been a red. Bray Lakers got a free and thankfully it just went over the goals and out wide. We stepped it up a bit but we still missed a good few chances to get a goal.

Then with under 10 minutes to go Michael Leavey got on the ball and knocked it out to the right side of the pitch and Paddy Gamble got the ball, ran down the wing and out past 3 Bray players, hit the ball low and right across the box and there was Dale waiting to knock it low under the keeper and into the back of the net. We were over the moon to get that goal after all the chances we missed earlier; we should have won like 7 or 9 nil. When the whistle blew we beat Bray Lakers 1.0. We did well to get our 1st win at home and a clean sheet for the season. We are playing Bray again in the National Cup in January 2012 up in Donegal.
