Hi Everyone, Emily Hurley here again. It is hard to think it is nearly Christmas, the time has passed very quickly since September.
The North Cork Alps group had their last meeting at the end of November. This time it was held in the
Cope Centre in Mallow. We had planned to hold it in a local hotel but it would cost too much. We had a great meeting and all the athletes got their new roles for the coming year. So everyone will be busy carrying out their duties. All the athletes are very grateful to their mentors and the organisers for putting so much work into it. After our meeting we all went to a very nice restaurant for our Christmas lunch. After that it was shopping or the cinema so we had a lovely day.
I have been very busy attending the
Contemporary Living course in
Mary Immaculate College in Limerick which I started in September. The two modules we are doing this term are
Social Studies and
Career Development. I find both subjects very interesting. We have alot of study and projects to do especially for Social Studies. At present I am doing my Autumn 2011 Semester Assessment on a European country. I decided to do it on Italy and have three themes Geography, Food and Drink, and Music and Dance. We also have to do an oral presentation.
My clubs are going well. We will be finishing at our riding club this week and also golf skills. We usually have about a month off at Christmas. Then we will be getting ready for our Area Events.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas and the best of luck for 2012
Emily
